St Kilda Festival 2009
Today is the annual St Kilda Festival in Melbourne. If it had been a typical summer day, the sun would have been out and everyone would be in bikinis and swimmers. But, today is a typical Melbourne day - think four seasons in a day and unpredictable weather changes. The sun was not out, the sky was overcast, the wind was strong and there was the odd drizzle. Despite that, the crowd, music and booze were aplenty.
(P/S: Not a fair depiction of the Fest but it is the only one I've got)
As I weaved through the crowd, many thoughts went through my mind. At some point, I was simply lost in a world of my own. Everything else was just a blur (in a good way though). Life goes on, doesn't it? The world doesn't stop moving just because yours has come to a standstill.
Continued walking and I came across this young boy playing the drums on the streets. There was such a huge crowd gathered around him, nodding to his beats and applauding his skills at such a young age. He was doing his thing with such ease and confidence. And it was good, no doubt about that. All behind me were adults watching in awe. It is refreshing and inspiring to see someone so young dream BIG. "Dare to dream, girl!" - I told myself that.
Ended my day at the St Kilda Festival with a little bit of shopping - a tad guilty but it's my all-time favourite. I couldn't resist. So, my wardrobe now has a new addition - a lovely yellow top.
